Camp History

2004-PRESENT

Tay Fisher's Fundamental Basketball Camp was established in the summer of 2004. It started at Kingston High School, where Tay went to high school and made a name for himself by working hard and never giving up. Eventually, this led him to a Division I school, Siena College and now playing professional basketball traveling the world.

He went to Siena College and received a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a minor in Education. Tay has always had a passion for working with kids, which shows not only with his camp, but with his occupation. Together, with his former Junior Varsity coach, Mark Wyncoop, they decided to start a basketball clinic. This initial event started as a 2-day clinic in hopes of helping kids move in the direction of becoming better basketball players.

In 2004- 2006 the clinic went co-ed, which consisted of 2 sessions. For 3 hours, twice a day, 20-25 total kids ranging in age from 12-17 years old showed up and learned a multitude of great material from Tay Fisher and his coaching staff.

In 2007, Tay Fisher decided to segregate the co-ed clinic and hold sessions for the boys and girls separately. It was a huge success because the number of campers increased. As the camp numbers increased, the days and hours expanded as well. The clinic went from a 2 day, 2 hour clinic to a 3 day, 3 hour clinic for each group.

In 2008, the clinic was no longer considered a clinic, but rather a camp. After Tay ended his career at Siena and the Siena Saints were able to make a name for themselves, Tay knew the clinics had to be changed into camps. The clinic would now be a week long camp (5 days) with extended hours. Also, he changed the T-shirt design, and expanded his camp to other regions of Upstae New York (Saratoga Springs High School and Troy High School). Players from all around the area wanted to be a part of his basketball camp and as a result of attending the camp, they became better players and better individuals in just 5 days.
